What Am I Doing Here?
If you are new to the fitness industry, strength training, or are just looking to get in better shape through diet and exercise it is imperative that you become educated with the right info. More than ever, the fitness industry has become a sort of 9 headed dragon ranging from actual strength training to pilates to *shudders* Crossfit. Along with the advent of the internet, there is loads of bogus advice out there to confuse you the consumers and strength athletes.
If you have ever fallen victim to a product or program that promises (keyword: promises) you will “gain 30lbs of muscle in 30 days” or “lose 20lbs of fat by only working out for 10minutes a day, 3 days a week” then it’s about time someone told you the truth. That just DOES NOT happen for beginners. It takes time and a certain understanding of the human body to be able to make these changes and it doesn’t come easy or in pill form. Sorry.
Just like a master sculptor or carpenter, you need the proper tools in order to create a masterpiece. In this case it is a combination of proper training, smart eating, and superior knowledge that will help you succeed.

If you are reading this then there is no doubt that you have taken charge of your fitness and are looking to take it to the next level through your own education. Knowledge is one of the most powerful tools that we possess as human beings. It’s something that we fail to see in our youth and something we wish we focused more on as we age. The truth is it is never to late to learn something to help you lead a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life. For some, that is strength training.

My Mission:
I have many missions in life, personal and professional, but with this website I aim to empower my readers with the knowledge to take charge of their fitness and life by providing a no b-s, cutting edge, practical approach to fitness. I want to share my knowledge and prevent people from making the same mistakes that I made early on and help them save unnecessary time, money, and frustration to enhance their journey towards excellence.
My Training Philosophy:
I am a strength coach. I get people stronger, plain and simple. I believe that people should move well and move often and be strong enough to enjoy a high quality of life. I believe that people should train without machines and fancy gadgets. I believe that people should train without mirrors and less for aesthetics and more for health, strength and quality movements. I believe that the best diet is one where you eat natural, wholesome food that does not come from a can or bag and is NOT limited. I believe that we need to get back to basics. Period.
That does not mean that training should not be fun and enjoyable and you have to only eat broccoli and chicken. It also doesn’t mean that there is one way to train for everyone as we are all unique. People should train the way they want but results may vary.
Personally, I have found that the tenets of a sound training program include:
- Bodyweight movements (if you can’t move properly, you shouldn’t add weights)
- Big, compound movements (such as squats, deadlifts and pushups and pullups)
- Smaller accessory movements (such as lunges and push/pull variations)
- Daily mobility and flexibility work (foam rolling included)
- Moving as many ways as possible (sprint, run, jump, climb, crawl, play etc.)
- Fun and challenging (this is key)
Training should be that time of day that you look forward to learning more about yourself and finding your limits. It should be more than just trying to look better. It should be more than just trying to get stronger or faster. It should be about empowerment. It should be about giving you the confidence to do anything that you put your mind to. It should be about true strength. It should be about you!
